Fabrications Estimator Engineering Support

  • Reports To: Operations Manager
    FLSA Status: Exempt
  • Summary:
    Responsible for estimating projects small and large for fabricating electro-mechanical designs, assist in writing proposal information, process engineering, shop floor support, use of internal data system for router development and inspection documentation, drawing interpretation and purchasing support.
  • Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
    º Perform estimating normally to customer supplied drawings
    º Works with current data GSS (GLOBAL SHOP SOLUTIONS) to enter estimating and process instructions
    º Cost estimating for materials, Special Processes, manufacturing processes both internal and external
    º Tool, product, and new concept design as needed
    º Create manufacturing work instruction development
    º Technical liaison with purchasing, Senior Engineers and suppliers
    º Develop and submit various project data requirements (first article test plans and reports, status reports, milestone schedules, etc.)
    º Track and monitor progress and insure estimates are meeting actual costs
    º Assist with the manufacture & assembly of projects, attend & conduct technical interchange meetings
    º Writes detailed work instructions as required
    º Assist with Technical Proposals
    º Coordinates activities with projects to assure quality and delivery commitments are met
    º Other duties as assigned and as required including production support
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: None
  • Skills and Experience:
    High school diploma with a minimum of a two year degree or 4 years equivalent work experience in the areas of electro-mechanical fabrications, process engineering and manufacturing processes. 2+ years experience with Catia or Solid Edge CAD software. Excellent communication skills written and verbal. Must possess technical ability to develop estimates to, improve or source new and make to print fabrications.

Position requires minimum exposure to the production floor. Company lifting limitation of 50 lbs. will be enforced.

Electro-Mechanical Tech I

  • Reports To: Operations Manager
    FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
  • Summary:
    Responsible for performing electro-mechanical assembly, machine operation, soldering and testing functions of varying complexity using engineering work instructions and engineering drawings.
  • Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
    º Following and working IAW wiring diagrams, product drawings and written instructions;
    º Assembly functions requiring expertise in drawing interpretation to complete job at hand;
    º Soldering of parts IAW current J-STD- 001
    º Capable of Initiating and performing electrical testing functions per instruction;
    º Learning to operate all shop floor equipment/hand tools for assembly;
    º Self-inspecting parts in addition to utilizing electronic testing instruments;
    º Ensuring all required quality procedures are followed including 1st article inspection;
    º Maintaining an organized and clean work station;
    º Adhering to safety procedures and wearing personal protection equipment (PPE) as required by job assignment;
    º Helping improve work instructions and documentation on existing and new production;
    º Following all company guidelines regarding conduct, safety, and documentation where required
    º Check parts using various hand inspection tools example: micrometers, calipers gage pins
    º Learn to operate machining equipment using CNC controls
    º Mechanical assembly including, riveting, hardware assembly, grinding, deburring
    º Other duties as assigned
  • Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Skills and Experience:
    High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three years of electro-mechanical assembly experience. Must be able to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings for assembly, electrical wiring and testing per instruction. One year experience with circuit board component soldering and wiring harness assembly. Three years’ experience in machine shop and fabricating using various metal working equipment. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Good communication and organizational skills required. Incumbent needs to have experience and ease with using hand tools (i.e. scales, screwdrivers, wrenches, wire cutters, crimpers, multi-meters, etc.) Working knowledge of Windows applications and basic keyboarding ability.
